Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between six and eight years old. They belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family.
Young people can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday. They can move to the next Section, Cub Scouts, between seven years and six months and eight years six months. If you are interested in joining 1st Pocklington Beaver Colony, please contact Rhys Burton 07751885437 or email Beavers@1stpocklingtonscouts.org.uk .
Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. The colony meets once on Monday nights during term time from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Scout Hut on Burnby Road, Pocklington.
Beavers are encouraged to try out many new and exciting activities by following a Balanced Programme designed to expose Beavers to a wide range of new, fun things to do. Their activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends.
